Who We Are
The First Reformed Church of Hasbrouck Heights traces its origins to January 17, 1893. The borough itself was incorporated on August 2, 1894, making the church about a year and a half older than the borough. We are an old church with a few members who trace their membership back for generations. We have become a small but mighty congregation focused on caring for our members and our property, as well as sharing our mission to care for the community at large.
Our congregation is seeking a Christ-centered, Spirit-led pastor who embodies compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to biblical teaching. We desire a leader who nurtures spiritual growth, fosters meaningful worship, and builds strong relationships across generations. The ideal candidate will guide our church with vision, humility, and a heart for discipleship, outreach, and community care, and help us continue growing into the church God is calling us to be.
Our congregation values unity, compassion, and a spirit of welcome that embraces people of all ages and backgrounds. We see ourselves as a caring family of believers who support one another, pray for one another, and walk together through joys and challenges. We also cherish the presence of children in our worship and seek to create opportunities for them to participate, learn, and grow. We value pastoral leadership that is approachable, compassionate, and present during life’s most significant moments. Our hope is to partner with a pastor who brings energy, vision, and a heart for intergenerational ministry.
